Self-help leaflets
Below are self-help leaflets that can be printed out for clients and customised if necessary. These leaflets will be updated over time so please print them direct from the website to make sure you are using the most up-to-date version.
Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA)
- JSA – Benefit Penalties, Sanctions and Hardship Payments – This leaflet contains information on what to do if your benefits have been sanctioned
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- ESA – Medicals and What to Expect – This leaflet contains information about the Limited Capability for Work Test as part of the assessment process for ESA
- ESA – Appealing against a Limited Capability for Work Tests_amended_28.10.13 – This leaflet contains information on how to appeal if you have been assessed as being ‘fit to work’ following your Limited Capability for Work Test
- ESA – Appealing placement in the Work Related Activity Group – This leaflet contains information on how to appeal if you have been placed in the Work Related Activity group following your Limited Capability for Work Test and you believe you should have been placed in the Support Group
EEA Nationals in relation to claiming Benefits
- EEA Right to Reside flow-chart – use this as an aid to determining a client’s right to reside.
- Check list for clients with immigration issues – Recent changes may leave some clients (EEA nationals) with issues. The issues may be complex and require either specialist knowledge of recent immigration/benefit rule changes or require that the clients be dealt with by a supervisor at local offices. This check list is designed to help those who interview the client either at a Gateway interview, or in the initial follow up to the Gateway, to determine if specialist/supervisor help is needed.
