We have submitted written evidence to the parliamentary committee looking at the Mental Capacity Amendment Bill, as we are concerned about serious shortcomings ín the Bill that will leave many of our most vulnerable clients with weaker safeguards for their rights and wellbeing than they have under the current system. Exciting employment opportunity – independent advocate (Job Reference: AS08)

Citizens Advice Sheffield, one of the country’s largest and most dynamic Local Citizens Advice, and our advocacy services exist to provide a free, independent and confidential service for people who need independent advocacy support.

We work with a wide range of people who are vulnerable and who need health or social care services.  This includes people with mental health problems, learning disabilities, dementia and brain injuries.  We work with young people, adults and older people from all backgrounds and a wide range of communities.  Many of our clients don’t have anyone else to support them.
