The financial Cliff Edge faced by Sheffield communities

We know that Covid 19 has had a disproportionate impact on the poorest communities, who face a “cliff edge” into poverty and in some cases destitution and homelessness as temporary support and protections are removed. Whilst the budget did signal limited extensions to some of the protections, the insecurity and fear of the future is an intolerable weight for many and the unresolved problems are building.

Impact report published: How our advice services have helped people – April to September 2020

We have published our impact report for the period April to September 2020, which shows how we have helped people though our advice services.

We have continued to provide services during the COVID-19 pandemic since we ceased seeing clients in person back in March 2020, to protect our clients, staff and volunteers, by changing to services being provided by phone and digital.

Adviceline has a new freephone number

Great news – Citizens Advice Sheffield have a new freephone number for its Adviceline, so that people can contact us without it costing anything to call.

The new Adviceline freephone number is 0808 278 7820 and is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm

This is really good news as it means that people in need of our help can contact us without having to worry about the cost of the call, especially when calling from mobile phones if have very little credit as is the case with a lot of our clients.
