We’re thrilled to announce Citizens Advice Sheffield has been successful in winning an award at the Institute of Money Advisors Conference this year! We won in the Impact and Innovation category. This award recognises the vital work of our Community Access Points (CAPs) and their profound impact on the individuals we support through them, particularly those who might not be able to access our services through traditional means.
In April, we submitted our nomination highlighting how the CAPs provide essential support to people who may lack digital skills or phone access, ensuring everyone can receive the debt advice they need. Our submission detailed the process: from initial debt assessment and tailored advice to scheduling appointments with Debt Advisers when necessary. We also included statistics on the number of clients helped, the issues addressed, and the positive outcomes achieved, alongside positive feedback from our partner organisations hosting the CAPs.
In May, we were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists, but knew the competition was tough with projects nominated from some strong candidates such as the Citizens Advice ‘SORT’ group (Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford) and Shelter’s Specialist Debt Advice Service.
On June 12th, our Debt Team Manager, Jane Kight, represented us at the IMA conference, and we are pleased to report that we won our nomination.

This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved with the CAPs, from our advisors to our partner organisations and their staff managing the sites. They truly make a difference, helping people who might otherwise be unable to, to access our services and get the crucial support they need. We are immensely proud of this recognition and remain committed to innovating and expanding our reach to serve the Sheffield community.
